We know how important the decision-making part of a contribution can be, and we want you to know that as stewards of many generous donations thus far, our goal is to always maintain a high level of financial conservatism with expenditures. Our singular goal is to share the lessons of the Buddha to everyone who wants to learn, and to do so in a spirit of loving kindness. Over the past year, we have been working on ways to expand our services, not only to our members, but also to the community. Below, you will find our current works, current projects, as well as future goals.

We are a fully exempt 501 (C)(3) religious organization, and will happily provide a receipt for your donation.

Monthly Sil Program Sinhalese

Every month we offer a full-day Sinhalese Sil program. This program featuring Dhamma lessons, as well as meditation sessions.

Sinhalese Dhamma Program

Our weekly Sinhalese program is a time for dhamma lessons and coming together as a community.

English Youth Program

Our English language youth programs are designed to teach Buddhist qualities to our younger members.

English Dhamma Class

English Dhamma lessons are available every Thursday evening. We welcome beginners to advanced students in this class.

English Meditation Class

Whether you are new to meditation or are looking to join a group, this class is for everyone interested. This class features breathing meditation, a short dhamma lesson, and ends with a love and kindness guided meditation.

Community Service

From Harvey Flood assistance, to twice-yearly blood drives, our center strives to practice generosity in our community.

New Location

Our largest (and most exciting) project in the offing is our new purpose-built meditation center, with a monk’s residence, and retreat rooms. This project will allow us to continue to expand our local outreach. This will be the very first center for our school planned, and built from the ground up. LINK

Meditation and Classroom

We are in the process of planning and building a room at our center that will function as a classroom, and a dedicated meditation space. This room will feature additional sound-proofing materials, and options for users of differing skills, and physical abilities.

Video Production

A plan is being developed for creating simple videos for online use, that will feature short Dhamma lessons that anyone can view online. One of our goals with this is to develop themes (stress, conflict resolution, mindfulness) that might help inspire people to live more joyful lives.

Expanded Classes

As we connect with more Western students, we are looking to accommodate more opportunities for learning. We will soon have an additional resident monk, and are looking forward to new opportunities that an additional teacher will bring.

Meditation Retreats

The ability to host weekend meditation retreats has been a large topic at our center. We are working to find a location(s), and teachers to do this on as regular schedule as is possible.

Unexpected Monthly Expenses

Whether there is another major flood like post-Harvey, a family in need, an unexpected repair to our center, or other projects that can’t wait, there is always a need for donations. Our center, like all others are built, and maintained only because of the generous nature of members, and friends around the world. Without you, we would not be able to share the lessons of the Buddha.
