Please wear comfortable, modest clothing that allows you to sit and move comfortably.
You only need to bring yourself and a willingness to learn. If you’d like, you may also bring a meditation cushion, yoga mat, water bottle, notebook, and pen. Chairs and meditation cushions will be available.
No. Chairs are available for anyone who prefers them, and you are welcome to meditate in whichever position is most comfortable for you. Our goal is to help you practice comfortably, regardless of your age or physical ability.
This is not a strict silent retreat. While we encourage quiet reflection during meditation sessions, there will also be guided instruction, opportunities to ask questions, and time for discussion with the teacher.
Throughout the day, you’ll be introduced to several meditation practices, including mindfulness of breathing, loving-kindness meditation, walking meditation, and insight meditation. These techniques are practical, beginner-friendly, and suitable for everyday life.
The retreat is led by an experienced Theravada Buddhist monk who has guided thousands of people through meditation retreats and mindfulness programs across the United States.
Absolutely. This retreat welcomes people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures. The teachings focus on practical mindfulness and meditation that anyone can benefit from.
The retreat is recommended for adults and mature teenagers (ages 16+). Younger participants may attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian and are able to participate quietly throughout the sessions.

Because this is a donation-based retreat, donations are non-refundable. However, if you notify us before the retreat, we’ll gladly transfer your registration to a future day-long meditation retreat, and you won’t need to make another donation.
