Lone Star Buddhist Meditation Center of Texas is a branch of Mahamevnawa Buddhist Meditation Center Sri Lanka. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the practice and the teaching of the Gautama Buddha.

It is our mission to spread the Buddha’s teachings of generosity, morality, and meditation and to enhance the spiritual life of our members and the general public through cultivating friendship, compassion, and wisdom. The services of this organization are open to the public, to learn and practice meditation and Buddhism. Our services are free to the public.

We provide following programs for the community and our members

Meditation programs twice a month, which helps you manage and balance your lives, and to find your inner peace through developing mindfulness. Our resident monks guide the public based on the authentic teachings of historical Buddhism. The instructions given include meditation for beginners as well as meditation for advanced practitioners.

Provide blood drives every six months to the community.

Provide food drives for the needy every three months.

Youth programs for young children once a month, which teaches how to develop compassion, honesty, generosity, respect for the fellow human and how to develop mindfulness through meditation.

Children’s program once a month, which teaches how to develop compassion, honesty, generosity and respect for the fellow human. Also, teaches light meditation to develop mindfulness.

Weekly Dhamma programs for the community. Provide extensive teachings of the Buddha.

Monthly Sil program for the Buddhist community, providing Dhamma chanting, dhamma stories, Buddhist teachings, and meditation.

  1. Is there a charge for activities?
    No. All of our events and activities are completely free.
  2. Is the public welcome to attend?
    Absolutely. That’s why we are here. Anyone interested in learning is welcome. No need to join. No need to register.
